Jujuy will be the Argentine province with the largest number of cities illuminated with solar energy

The province of Jujuy will have three new towns what will be illuminated by solar energy, As announced at a press conference, Mario Pizarro, Secretary of Energy for the northern province.

These are the peoples of Catua, El Toro and San Juan de Quillaques that, from this measure, they will supply 100% with clean energythrough the installation of solar plant and of the lithium-ion battery storage.

In this way, Jujuy will become the Argentine province with the largest number of cities illuminated with solar energy since to these three towns we must add those of El Angosto, La Ciénaga de Santa Catalina, Lipán de Moreno, Olaroz Chico and San Francisco de Santa Catalina They already have that kind of power supply.

The works will take place within the framework of the Jujuy Multiannual Development Master Plan 2021-2023next to Renewable Energy Program in Rural Markets (PERMER) and from the Secretary of Energy and the Directorate of Renewable Energy Development and Energy Efficiency of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Public Services, Land and Housing.

As he commented at a press conference Marcelo Nieder, Director of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency of the Ministry of Energyin the specific case of the cat, the work is in its final stage since the town already has both the fencing, the containers and the solar panels installed, as well as all the medium and low voltage lines ready to start working.
