The former head of the astronomy department at the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, Dr. Ashraf Tadros, said that the sky is witnessing on the 23rd the conjunction of the moon and the stellar crowd Thuraya.

He added: “The moon is associated with the star crowd Al Thuraya (the Seven Sisters or Plaids) located in the constellation of Taurus, as this scene appears at approximately 1:00 after midnight and remains in the sky until it disappears with the increase of the morning twilight light due to the rising of the sun.”

He stressed that all observations of astronomical events and phenomena do not have any harm to human health or his daily activity on Earth, except for a solar eclipse, as looking at it with the naked eye is very harmful to the eye.

He continued: “Please bear in mind that all observations of astronomical phenomena and events require a clear air and that the sky is free of clouds, dust and water vapor.”
