JAKARTA – Co Captain of the Winning National Team Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN National Team) Jumhur Hidayat promised that the current labor regulations would be overhauled if the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 1 wins the 2024 presidential election. This was conveyed by Jumhur at the Indonesian Nationalist Labor Union (SBNI) declaration of support for Anies-Imin.
The statement of support was delivered by SBNI General Chairperson Wagimoen accompanied by a number of SBNI central administrators and regional administrators to Jumhur Hidayat in the South Jakarta area, Friday (26/1/2024). SBNI Chairman Wagimoen said that his party supports Amin’s shared vision and mission, including law enforcement related to the Job Creation (Ciptaker) Law which is sharp downwards, but blunt upwards.
“Therefore, we want change so that workers can get justice and prosperity,” said Wagimoen, adding that so far SBNI has never supported any candidate pair.
National Team Co Captain Amin Jumhur Hidayat in his speech said that workers saw that Anies had a desire to improve workers’ welfare, such as when he was Governor of DKI who increased the regional minimum wage (UMR) by more than 6 times the increase set by Joko Widodo (Jokowi) through OP 36.
Because, he said, Anies used the DKI Jakarta special law. Jumhur, who is also the General Chair of KSPSI, said that nationalists should cry when they see the current regime. For example, painters are brought in from other countries or iron hoes are imported from abroad.
Because of this, Jumhur invited SBNI members to vent their anger by voting for Amin on February 14. “If Amin wins, labor regulations will definitely be overhauled,” stressed Jumhur, referring to the Job Creation Law which is rejected by all workers in the country.
For this reason, National Team Co Captain Amin asked all SBNI ranks to fight to win Amin in the upcoming presidential election. “There are 58 million workers in the country, if they together with their families vote for Amin, we will win,” said Jumhur.
The SBNI declaration of support for Amin was attended by a number of labor figures, including Rudi HB Dhamam (GSBI) and Daeng Wahidin (PPMI). Simultaneously with this declaration, SBNI stated that it had joined the Labor Axis for Change and would move to win Amin in the 2024 presidential election.
