The parliamentarian accused the organization of promoting its “gender ideology” with these consultations.
Following the publication of the Vulnerability Survey carried out by the National Board of School Aid and Scholarships (Junaeb), which included a question about gender identity, National Renewal (RN) deputy Mauro González criticized the initiative.
“Until when will Junaeb interfere with the sexuality of our children? We have received complaints from parents and guardians about the Digital Vulnerability Survey, where they are asked about the gender of their children, children in first grade, fifth grade, if they are men, women, trans, non-binary,” said Deputy González in a letter addressed to the Minister of Education and Junaeb.
“What are they up to? What are they looking for with these questions? Is this related to the feeding program? Of course not! They only seek to continue promoting their nefarious gender ideology and using public education, and most seriously, with a clear identification of the students, using the name and RUT of the minors,” he fired without filter.
In light of the above, Deputy González requested that the questions regarding gender identity be justified and requested that the privacy of the data collected be guaranteed.
“Public policies must consider all those who need support”
Meanwhile, exclusively, Junaeb indicated to THE DYNAMO that ““Answers are provided by responsible adults.”
“With an average of 130 questions, The Junaeb Vulnerability Survey is voluntary and answered by responsible adults”they clarified.
Along with this, they added that “the inclusion of a question on gender identity in the survey It is based on standards developed by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) and complies with existing regulations.”
Likewise, Junaeb pointed out that “public policies must consider all those who need support, without making existing realities invisible”.
“This approach, based on the commitment to effective and inclusive policieshas no relation to ideologiesbut with the construction of a more just country,” they added.
