As a reflection of the recovery from the semiconductor shortage problem, the car sales of the automakers have started to pick up in the month of June.

Due to the shortage of semiconductors, the car production of leading companies has been halted for the past few months. Due to this, the company’s car sales were affected as they were unable to engage in production work as per the requirement. In this situation, as a result of the measures taken by the companies to recover from the problem, the car sales of the leading companies have started to rise in June.

In particular, the sales of passenger vehicles of Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors and other companies have started to pick up. On the other hand, it has been revealed through statistics that the car sales of Kia, MG and Skoda companies have increased significantly.

Maruti Suzuki: Maruti Suzuki India, the number one in production and sales, sold a total of 1,55,857 cars in June. Sales in June 2021 were seen at 1,47,368. The company sold 1,32,024 vehicles domestically, up 1.28 percent from 1,30,348.

Hyundai: Maruti rival Hyundai Motor India’s June sales rose 14.5 percent to 62,351 from 54,474. Hyundai’s newly launched ‘Venue’ car has been well received by the customers.

Tata Motors: The company’s domestic sales of passenger vehicles rose 87 percent to 45,197 from 24,110.

Kia: Kia Motors sold an unprecedented 24,024 cars in June. This is a growth of 60 percent. In June 2021, its sales were only seen at 15,015.

MG: Similarly, MG Motor Company also registered a growth of 27 per cent in June last year with sales of 4,503 vehicles.

Volkswagen: The company’s car sales doubled to 21,588 in the first half of January-June.

Toyota: Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s June sales rose 87 percent to 16,500 from 8,801 last year.

Audi: German luxury car maker Audi sold 1,765 cars last June. This is a 49 percent increase compared to 1,181 cars sold in June 2021.

Skoda: Skoda Auto India’s June sales rose eight-fold to 6,023 units.

TVS: TVS Motor sold 3,08,501 vehicles in June last year, up 22 percent from 2,51,886 vehicles sold in June last year. Domestic two-wheeler sales jumped to 1,93,090 from 1,45,413. Exports in June increased by 8 percent to 1,14,449.

Bajaj Auto: Bajaj Auto sold a total of 3,47,004 vehicles in June last year. This is slightly higher than the 3,46,136 vehicles sold in June last year. However, the company’s two-wheeler and passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market declined by 15 percent to 1,38,351 units.
