In June, the last month of the financial year 2023-24, expatriate income or remittance flow in the country increased and created a new record. By the end of June, 254 million US dollars remittances have arrived in the country through legal channels. In local currency (118 taka per dollar) which amounts to taka 29 thousand 995 crores. Which is the highest in the last 36 months or three years. Earlier, remittances of $259.82 million came in July of FY 2020-21.

After reviewing the data of the central bank, it was found that the total remittance in the current financial year 2023-24 was 2 thousand 391 crore 5 million dollars. This is the highest in the last 3 fiscal years. In the fiscal year 2022-23, the expatriate income in the country was 2 thousand 161 crore 7 lakh dollars. Remittance or expatriate income increased by 2.3 billion dollars in a span of one year. In the fiscal year 2021-22, the income of expatriates in the country was 2 thousand 103 million 16 million US dollars.
In the current financial year 2023-24 197 crore 31 lakh dollars in July, 159 crore 94 lakh in August, 133 crore 43 lakh in September, 197 crore 14 lakh in October, 193 crore in November, 199 crore 12 lakh in December, 211 crore 31 lakh in January, 216 crore in February 45 lakhs, 199 crores 70 lakhs in March, 204 crores 42 lakhs came in April, 225 crores 38 lakhs came in May.
In the fiscal year 2022-23, $209.63 million was received in July, $203.69 million in August, $153.96 million in September, $152.55 million in October, $159.51 million in November, $169.97 million in December, $195.88 million in January, and February 156 crores, 202 crores 24 lakhs in March, 168 crores 49 lakhs in April, 169 crores 16 lakhs came in May, 219 crores 90 lakhs came in June.
