Thorsten Legat has not always had the easiest relationship with his sons. Now he turned to his two children in tears.
Thorsten Legat has been married to his wife Alexandra since 2001. The couple has two sons together, Nico and Leon. But their relationship with them is sometimes very strained. The former professional footballer also addressed this on “I’m a Celebrity – Showdown of the Jungle Legends” and reported that he has had no contact with his younger son Leon for several months. This is clearly taking a toll on Legat.
The 55-year-old was a guest on “Punkt 6” to talk about his expulsion from the legends jungle camp. His relationship with his two sons also came up. “At that age, they move in a direction where I think you try everything. I think we have not only given our children a lot of love, but also a lot of values that make you say: ‘Damn it, why don’t they put that into practice?'” Legat said openly.
The topic clearly affected him deeply, and the reality TV star burst into tears. “I beg you as a father and as a mother who is waiting in the back: Come back home and we love you.”
His relationship is not only difficult with his younger son, but also with his older child, Nico Legat. The 26-year-old also appears in front of the camera. Thorsten Legat told RTL: “There is such a conflict between us at the moment. I filmed with him a few weeks ago. Then he didn’t come home.”
He suspects that the reason for this is the wrong environment. “He will only grow up when he knows again that mom and dad are the best,” he said. Nico should come back down to earth. He also advises his children: “I appeal to Nico and perhaps to my other son too: finally wake up before it’s too late! Because then we probably won’t be here anymore!”
