Junior Women’s World Cup: India beat New Zealand to reach finals

Under 19 Women’s World Cup Cricket Series is underway. The semi-final match was held today. India and New Zealand women’s teams clashed in the first semi-final match.

The Indian women’s team won the toss and chose to bowl first. Accordingly, the New Zealand team that entered the field lost all the wickets and scored 107 runs at the end of 20 overs. Parshavi Chopra took 3 wickets for the Indian team.

The Indian team entered the field with the target of winning if they score 106 runs. Shafali Verma and Shweta Seharwat were the openers. Shafali Verma is out for 10 runs. Sowmya Tiwary came next and added runs with Shweta Seharawat.

Shweta Seharwat, who played aggressively, scored a stunning half-century in 39 balls. This is his 3rd half-century in this World Cup. Sowmiya Tiwary was bowled out when the Indian team was 95 runs.

In the end, the Indian team won by 110 runs losing 2 wickets in 14.2 overs and qualified for the final. The final will be held next Sunday. The 2nd semi-final match between Australia and England is going to take place this evening. The winning team will face India.
