Football Slavia beat Teplice 4:0 in a comfortable match of the 24th round of the Fortuna:League. Matěj Jurásek scored the first two goals with great shots from a distance. The footballers of České Budějovice lost their victory over Zlín in the last minutes, Janetzký decided on a 2:2 draw.
The reigning vice-champions scored consecutive points in the tenth round and are one point behind leaders Sparta from second place. After five league matches and for the first time in the spring, the North Bohemians did not score and are ninth.
Slavia won after three competitive matches. In addition to Thursday’s 2:4 defeat in Milan, they drew goalless at Sparta in the last round and also lost to their old rival in the quarter-finals of the domestic cup. “Sklari” have not beaten today’s opponent since August 2014 even in the 19th league match in a row and lost to them after the previous two draws, but they lost both at home.
“Especially in the first half, we were dominant, we managed to turn the game around, we put the opponent under pressure. We could have scored more goals, but we played under pressure, we had good movement, a preparatory combination. I am satisfied with the performance, we managed it today unequivocally. In addition, we spared some players,” Slavia coach Jindřich Trpišovský said at the press conference.
The home coach made five changes to the starting line-up compared to the opening match with AC. For the first time since September, the offensive all-rounder Jurásek got a chance in the league from the start, the defensive support Holeš was replaced by Ogba in the stopper pair. Due to an agreement between the clubs, Teplice coach Zdenko Frťala had to do without left back Labík, midfielder Hronko and the best scorer of the Fila team, who are visiting the north of Bohemia from Slavia. On the other hand, defender Chaloupek, who will transfer to the Vršovice club in the summer, was not missing the captain’s armband. The “Sklar” had only five players on the field.
Slavia started with a big onslaught. Already in the second minute, Diouf, who did not finish the duel in Milan after a red card, headed dangerously. In the 11th minute, Wallem skilfully moved the ball to Vlček after the signal from the corner kick, and he narrowly missed the half-open goal with a technical shot. The Norwegian midfielder himself soon threatened from the air and in the next chance he had to save Ludh against Masopust’s shot from an angle.
After an overwhelming opening twenty minutes, Teplice gradually got more into the game, but employed Staňko only once. In the 35th minute, Slavia’s goalkeeper kicked the ball in front of Jukle only to Knapík, but against his lob attempt, he was back on his feet in time and did not let the ball go behind his back.
An almost full Eden saw goals at the end of the half. In the 38th minute, when receiving a pass, Jurásek went around the defending Knapík and hit the far post with a technical shot from behind the goal. Four minutes later, the ball reached him after a corner kick, and this time he surprised Ludha with a tight shot on the front post. The 20-year-old youth representative scored the third and fourth goals of the year, he has a total of ten goals in the top competition. He had his fourth two-goal game in his league career.
“For the first goal, we had only one idea that worked. For the second one, I just hit it on the goal. The goalkeeper didn’t see it, I was lucky,” Juráska was quoted as saying by the club’s website. “In the beginning, we dragged ourselves unnecessarily and in the end we conceded two stupid goals before the break. It’s a shame especially the second one, a dropped ball and Jurásek put it through,” regretted Chaloupek.
Coach Frťala made three changes in the lineup in the second half, and just one of the new players, Beránek, narrowly missed a shot shortly after the start of the game. However, another goal in the 57th minute slowed down the game improvement of the visitors. Wallem tricked Chaloupek with a trick and he himself did not make a mistake in front of Ludha. The 23-year-old midfielder scored his fifth goal in the league season and his third in the spring.
From the score of 3:0, the match was already over and the people of Prague were saving their energy for Thursday’s match against AC Milan. Substitute Tijani could have increased the score in the 74th minute, but instead of passing to another incoming player from the bench, Tecl shot high in front of the empty goal. Jureček added the fourth hit in the set-up with a cross shot, who with his 11th goal of the season came within second best scorer of the competition, Havlík from Slovácko. Teplice conceded four times in one game for the first time this year.
“In the opening half hour, we had too much respect, even though the quality of Slavia is enormous. In the second half, we already had signs of chances and we picked ourselves up, even though it may have been the opponent’s intention to let us more into the central zone of the pitch. Considering the development we couldn’t think about taking away the points today,” commented Frťala, who at the beginning of the press conference praised the support of around three hundred Teplice fans in the away sector.
Division of points in the south of Bohemia
České Budějovice drew 2:2 at home with Zlín, despite leading twice. Both goals of South Bohemia were scored by Jan Suchan. First, he made his mark at the start of the match, but a moment later Jakub Černín equalized. Jakub Janetzký responded to Suchan’s second goal in the last minute of the match.
“Shoemakers” did not lose to Dynamo in the top competition for the eighth time in a row and remained in 14th place, which means participation in the play-off for the first time. The South Bohemians remained one point behind today’s opponent and have a two-point lead on the last Karvina.
Both teams got off to an unabashed start. In the second minute, Šigut from České Budějovice received a long ball for the defense, he passed it to Suchan from the right side, who beat Dostál with a shot.
It seemed that the home team had prepared better for the match and had more appetite for the game. But this illusion lasted until the seventh minute. Zlín took a corner kick three times in a row, and in the last one Cedidla hit the post first. However, the home team failed to kick the ball away and Černín shot past the defending players standing in front of him. He scored his second goal in the league season.
From that point until the end of the half, the visitors were the more dangerous team. In the ninth minute, Zlín could have turned the score around when, after a pass from Slončík, Cedidl fired, but his attempt was blocked by the České Budějovice goalkeeper Šípoš. At the end of the first half, hope dawned for České Budějovice when referee Pechanec first ordered a penalty kick for the alleged hand of Čelůstka. However, after reviewing the video footage, he reversed his verdict.
The second half was rather cautious for a long time. The home side were a bit more active. In the 75th minute, Cedidlo stopped Alli with a foul. Suchan stood up to the penalty kick and it looked like he was going to cross into the penalty area. However, the midfielder from České Budějovice chose a direct shot from an angle that surprised Dostál and the home team took the lead again. Suchan scored two goals in one game for the first time in his league career, and with three hits in this year’s top competition, he is the team’s best scorer together with Alli and Ondrášek.
However, the passage from the beginning of the match could be repeated again, when Zlín was able to react quickly to the lead. But Nombil’s shot went just wide. However, the guests eventually won the point. In the 90th minute, the ball fell in the penalty area to Janetzký, who equalized. In the league year, he registered among the scorers for the fourth time and, together with Vukadinović, is the team’s best scorer.
Together with Zlín, České Budějovice have the worst defense in the competition with 52 conceded goals. In the third home game of the spring season, Dynamo did not win for the first time, but they won 16 of the total 18 points there in the season of the top competition. Zlín scored away in the league after a series of four losses, but collected only six of the total 19 points there in the league year. “Shoemakers” have not won three rounds in a row, South Bohemia three out of the last four.
