In a ceremony held this Saturday morning (9), at Teatro Cassiano Gabus Mendes, São Paulo Futebol Clube paid tribute to the jurist and member of the Clube Ives Gandra da Silva Martins. The Laudo Natel Award was presented to the lawyer.

Ives Gandra Martins is one of the most renowned jurists in the Brazilian legal scene, known for his vast contribution to Law, with emphasis on his work as a lawyer, teacher and writer.

The tribute paid highlights not only his excellence as a jurist, but also his commitment to relevant causes in the sporting field and, notably, his dedication to his favorite team, Tricolor Paulista, in these 80 years as an active member of the Club, among which he became preside over the Advisory Board on two occasions (from 1999 to 2004 and from 2020 to the present).

The eminent jurist has also demonstrated great dedication to sport, supporting initiatives that promote fair play and sporting integrity. His contribution to São Paulo FC and to the sport as a whole deserves to be recognized and celebrated.

Moved, the São Paulo native thanked him for the tribute and stated: “This has always been the reason for my deep love for São Paulo: to ensure that we have this easy dialogue between our Club, which is an example in Brazil and the world, with all other clubs.”

The awarding of the Laudo Natel Award by São Paulo Futebol Clube to Ives Gandra Martins proves to be of great importance and recognition, as the Laudo Natel Award, designed and established by President Julio Casares, in 2021, is an honor that recognizes prominent personalities from the Tricolor community, who dedicated part of their lives to making São Paulo FC a reference on and off the field. The honoree was the first personality to receive the award since its creation.

The award is named after the former president of São Paulo FC, Laudo Natel, who played a fundamental role in the Club’s history and in its consolidation as one of the main football teams in Brazil and the world.

The request for the award to be presented to Ives Gandra Martins was made by Mara Casares, women’s, social and events director who, together with Guilherme Gandra Martins, advisor to São Paulo FC and grandson of the honoree, were the ceremony’s guests.

At the ceremony, friends and family of jurist Ives Gandra Martins and former president Laudo Natel were present.
