Perpignan shielded their young 18-year-old gem, who has just revealed himself at the U20 World Cup.

The young French second line Posolo Tuilagi, fresh from the world champion with the Bleuets, has extended his contract with Perpignan for three seasons, the Top 14 club announced on Saturday.

Son of former Samoan international Henry Tuilagi, the second line, as powerful (1.94 m, 149 kg) as he is mobile, made a name for himself by carrying the Blueberries to a third consecutive world championship title, Friday evening against Ireland (50-14).

«Good news never comes alone, France are world champions of the under-twenties, and today I am very happy and very proud to announce the firm extension of Posolo Tuilagi’s contract with USAP until 2026!“Wrote the president of Perpignan, François Rivière, on Facebook.

«Arrived at the USAP at the age of 6, this pure product of our training and true hope of French rugby will continue to defend our colors for the next three seasons!“, he welcomed.

Last season, Tuilagi played 12 Top 14 matches, including six as a starter, scoring one try.
