The O’Higgins Prosecutor’s Office accuses Godoy of making a series of purchases via direct dealings, on behalf of the municipality, with people close to him.
The Rancagua Guarantee Court ordered that Juan Ramón Godoy (former PS), mayor of Rancagua, serve preventive detention after being formalized for four crimes of bribery, embezzlement of public funds and fraud against the Treasury.

In this way, he helped companies in his circle of acquaintances financially with municipal resources.
Along with this, the mayor of Rancagua is accused of organize parties with abundant alcohol and where there would be drug consumption.
A gastronomic businessman reported on these parties to T13, the scene where agreements were made to obtain direct treatment contracts.
“He asked me for financial help in 2020 for his campaign as mayor, promising me that he would give me a lot of business once he took office; But to date he has only given me some direct deals and the Municipal Corporation owes me close to 100 million pesos,” indicated the person involved.
Regarding the parties led by Juan Ramón Godoy, the businessman explained that “We met at my house in Alto Lo Castillo, there was meat, a lot of drinking, drugs between cocaine and marijuana. They were meetings in which we all consumed and took from what was available. “I remember we got together practically every week.”
