Lido Sounds Festival Draws Thousands Despite Heat, Wraps Up with Rap Focus
The Lido Sounds Festival in Austria continues to captivate audiences, drawing approximately 15,000 attendees on its second day – a slight decrease from the previous day – and is set to conclude Sunday with a program heavily featuring rap artists.
The festival’s second day was highlighted by a spectacular performance from the French Electronica duo Justice, who seamlessly integrated their signature sound with a phenomenal light show. According to organizers, the performance, which began with the track “Genesis” and evolved from white light dominance to vibrant color displays, was a major draw. Light columns soared into the sky, while dynamic beams and surfaces moved over the crowd as DJs Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay delivered a set blending TechnoDisco and more meditative soundscapes. The stage itself was transformed into a massive light area, complemented by two large video walls, creating a visually stunning experience. Attendees who stayed until the end were treated to a powerful finale, described as a “fat ‘dance’ souvenously.”
Adding to the diverse lineup, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso brought a unique blend of Latin pop, jazz, electronic, trap, hip-hop, and experimental vocals to the stage, marking their first Austrian performance after appearances at Coachella and Glastonbury. Their performance, described as “partly bizarre, highly musical,” began with a relaxed lounge vibe before escalating into a high-energy show featuring tattoos, fire, lasers, and smoke.
The festival also showcased emerging talent. Indie rocker Fiio delivered a confident and powerful performance with a “fat guitar sound” and a charismatic voice. Bac, a 19-year-old artist from Villach, captivated the audience with his “cuddly rap” and decelerated pop sounds. Mira Lu Kovacs presented songs from her solo album, “Please, Save Yourself,” creating an intimate atmosphere despite the heat. Local artist Uche Yara, hailed as a rising star, impressed with a sound that blended rock, electro, world music, and pop, showcasing her dynamic stage presence and striking vocals.
Festivalgoers found respite from the heat on Saturday with cooling from water hoses, following earlier rain showers on Friday. .
As the Lido Sounds Festival prepares for its final day, the focus shifts to a predominantly rap program, promising another diverse and engaging experience for attendees.
