K Electric’s demand to increase the distribution margin per unit up to 62%

(Owais Kayani) K Electric has demanded an increase in the distribution margin per unit of electricity up to 62%.

K Electric has asked for a 62% increase in distribution margin under the 7-year multi-year tariff. It has been requested to increase the distribution margin per unit from the current Rs. 3.10 to Rs. 5.02. In the submission, K Electric has asked for a distribution margin of Rs 3.84 paise per unit for FY 2024 and a distribution margin of Rs 4.12 paise per unit for FY 2025.

K Electric has requested to set a distribution margin of 4 rupees 37 paisa for the financial year 2026, K Electric has asked for a distribution margin of 4 rupees 55 paisa per unit for the financial year 2027, and fixed a distribution margin of 4 rupees 77 paisa per unit for the financial year 2028. It has been requested to set a distribution margin of 4 rupees 91 paise per unit for the financial year 2029 and a distribution margin of 5 rupees 2 paise per unit for the financial year 2030.

Nepra will decide on the application of distribution margin filed by K Electric, the decision regarding additional burden on K Electric consumers will be taken by Nepra authority, Nepra has sought feedback from stakeholders within 7 days on the application of K Electric.
