Kottayam: Protest against K Rail boundary stone laying today. Locals are protesting against the arrival of officials to place a boundary stone on the steps of the Kottayam pit. The locals stopped the vehicle which came with pegs to throw stones. A large police contingent has been deployed in the area.

Meanwhile, the police registered a case against the protesters against the stoning in Nattassery. The case was registered against 100 people who protested against the stoning. More than 20 people have been identified from the scene. A case has also been registered against 75 Youth Congress activists during the collectorate agitation.

K Rail protest continues at Chottanikkara, Ernakulam. The locals have set up a tent at Chottanikkara South level to prevent the officials from reaching Kallidan. K-Rail officials will return today to set up a boundary stone in the area. But the locals are of the view that the stone will not be allowed to be placed for any reason. The protest was led by the Congress. For the past three days, Congress workers have been throwing stones at pizzeria.
