Kabul: The UAE government has held talks with the Taliban government on the operation of the Kabul airport. The airport, which was damaged in connection with the U.S. military withdrawal, was reopened with the help of Qatar and Turkey. Qatar has offered to take control of Kabul International Airport, but the Taliban have not yet reached an official agreement. Meanwhile, UAE officials are holding marathon talks with Taliban leaders over the operation of the airport. The Taliban need technical assistance from other countries to secure Kabul airport, but the Afghan government is not interested in handing over control of the airport to any foreign country. At the same time, the Taliban is reportedly seeking financial assistance from the UAE government to help the war-torn Afghan economy recover from the devastation.
