He is an Ayurvedic doctor. However, he entered the cinema with a love for acting. Rachel Rebecca in this position was recently interviewed. In it he says, I have known Manikandan as a friend for a long time. When I was just talking to him I told him something about being interested in acting. He remembered me when he started making this film.

I knew from the beginning that this was an important character. Also, Mani told me everything from the beginning to the end of what a film would look like, not just what it would be like to act in it. In this last farmer film I was playing the role of a judge. So the people of that village called me Jarjamma. I have now developed my own in Usilampatti. The grandfather in the picture actually looked at me like a granddaughter.

Why should he go to Chennai, stay here and sell cow’s milk. He spoke to me about how much more realistic this is than anything else. I went and met him one day before leaving Corona Lock Down when I heard he was not feeling well. I also have the mental satisfaction of finally meeting him. The only sad thing is that he was not there at the time of the film’s release. He has lived through that film though.
