jpnn.comJAKARTA – Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman hopes that President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) son, Kaesang Pangarep, will take the initiative to visit the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to explain the issue of the use of private jets that is being widely discussed by the Indonesian people.

According to him, the KPK’s steps to process the findings must also be supported by Kaesang himself.

“I hope that in addition to the KPK being active, Kaesang is also actually active in returning home soon and coming to the KPK to explain all of this. Whether this is just a hitchhiker or following or being facilitated, let it all be explained and so that later in this position everything will be clear and if the KPK feels that there is an allegation of gratification, let it be followed up and at least Kaesang returns the money equal to the price of the ticket from Jakarta to Los Angeles,” said Boyamin.

Boyamin suspects the business class tickets range from Rp50 million to Rp90 million. Kaesang can return the amount to the KPK if the facilities he received are related to gratification.

“Kaesang paid it clearly and had nothing to do with the noisy allegations,” Boyamin explained.

Previously, Boyamin Saiman submitted evidence to the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) so that it could be followed up as material for alleged gratification to President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) family.

Boyamin submitted the evidence related to the issue of Jokowi’s youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, who received a private jet facility from an e-commerce and marketplace company. According to Boyamin, the same company had also collaborated with Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

“Today I have sent the MoU document between the Solo City Government which was signed by Gibran Rakabuming Raka on April 23, 2021,” said Boyamin in his statement, Wednesday (28/8).

According to him, the KPK’s steps to process the findings must also be supported by Kaesang himself.
