Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, has expressed respect for the stances of other political parties regarding their candidate selection for the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.
This statement came in response to questions about the possibility of PSI General Chair Kaesang Pangarep running for governor of Jakarta. Kaesang had previously hinted at his readiness to compete against incumbent Anies Baswedana and Ridwan Kamil.
“Yes, that is the authority and sovereignty of each political party,” Doli said in response to media inquiries.
Doli emphasized that Golkar would not interfere in the affairs of other parties in the upcoming gubernatorial election.
The Golkar leader also revealed that the party is focused on strengthening its ranks and supporting Ridwan Kamil as their candidate for governor.
