jpnn.comJAKARTA – Former Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission Laode Muhammad Syarif said that the General Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep would be better off coming to the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) to clarify the alleged gratification that is being widely discussed on social media.

“If Kaesang himself had gone to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), it would have been much better so everything would have been clearer,” said Laode in the Pasar Minggu area, Jakarta, Wednesday.

In addition, he said that Kaesang could declare the alleged gratification that was questioned by the public even though he served as the general chairman of a political party.

“He is the current party chairman, not a public official yet, but the party chairman is actually a public office. So, if there are donations from other parties, whether in cash or in-kind (facilities), it should be declared so that it can be clearer,” he explained.

Meanwhile, he assessed that the KPK could clarify the alleged clarification directly without waiting for Kaesang to visit the anti-corruption commission office.

“Yes, if they have a report, and they know, and want that (clarification without waiting for Kaesang to the KPK, ed.), yes, it’s okay. It’s okay for the KPK. Yes, it’s okay to clarify,” he said.

Previously, Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) Alexander Marwata said that his party had ordered the Director of Gratification to follow up on the alleged gratification involving Kaesang.

The alleged gratification was discussed by netizens, such as on social media X, after Kaesang’s wife Erina Gudono uploaded a view from inside a private jet via social media Instagram.

Kaesang Pangarep was advised to come to the Corruption Eradication Committee to explain the alleged gratification.
