Kaiserslautern’s goalkeeping legend Gerry Ehrmann will celebrate his 63rd birthday in Austria on Friday.

After that, all concentration is on his new job: Ehrmann will coach the goalkeepers at the FCK youth academy and will once again take care of the talents between the posts in the Palatinate.

Ehrmann to BILD: “Young goalkeepers are as important to me as Lautern.” As FCK goalkeeper coach, he brought out national goalkeepers like Tim Wiese (40), Roman Weidenfeller (41) and Kevin Trapp (31) until his dismissal in February 2020. FCK hopes that Ehrmann will become a gold digger again when it comes to keeper.
