KUWAIT CITY: Kala Kuwait has announced the winners of a literary festival organized for writers from the Kuwaiti expatriate community. Joby Baby won first prize in an essay writing competition on ‘Cultural Resistance in the Present’. Reena Rajan and Saju Stephen bagged the second and third positions. Pratish Das won the first prize, Rajalakshmi Shaimesh won the second prize and Reena Rajan won the third prize in the short story writing competition.
In the poetry competition, Lipi Prasid won the first position and Mithu Cherian and Jyothidas Narayanan won the second and third positions respectively. The prize winners were selected from a competition of around 100 participants.
