Thrissur ∙ Kathakaliyacharya Kalamandalam Gopi requested votes for the left candidate minister K. Radhakrishnan in Alathur. He made a video appeal on social media. He asked for K. Radhakrishnan’s vote amid controversy over his blessing of Thrissur’s BJP candidate Suresh Gopi and saying no to Padma Bhushan.
K. Radhakrishnan is my forever friend. People of Alathur know about his public service. Everyone should join hands and wish him great success. He is at the top of politics and has been with all the activities related to the art world. Whenever he won from Chelakkara, he worked for Kalamandal. I am asking for votes personally because I am convinced of his actions, character and responsibility towards the people,” Gopiyashan said in a video message.
Kalamandalam Gopi’s son Raghu Gurukripa has come forward against BJP candidate Suresh Gopi. The post alleged that Suresh tried to influence Gopiyashan to support Gopi. The son said that many VIPs are trying to influence his father for Suresh Gopi and he should understand that this Gopi is not that Gopi. After the post was widely shared and discussed, it was later deleted. He said that the post is only to say that love should not be exploited and the discussion should end.
