This is how criminal psychologist Rosen Yordanov commented on Nova TV about the protest of Ministry of Internal Affairs officials against a possible replacement of Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov.
Over the years, two types of ministers were appointed in the Ministry of Internal Affairs – one was absolute anonymous, sent as landlords to wave a whip and make some personnel changes and behave arrogantly towards the personnel, the other were external bodies who in no way sympathized with the agenda of the system. There is a need for reform in the system, but before it happens, for 15 years, the system gets frustrated, people feel stressed and are not ready for change. This was the first minister who stood as a political shield and did not chase the employees, did not make serious transfers and personnel rotations. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, it just doesn’t. This, to a large extent, made a large part of the employees feel that he is their own person, he is not external to the system, Yordanov explained.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs officers have been really harassed over the years by people who insult and abuse them, who throw stones at them. Ministers like Boyko Rashkov, who break into the system, wave a whip and do absolutely frivolous things, the expert added. Even a minister, apart from everything else – the support for him is probably due to one very simple fact – his salaries have risen. Stress has decreased, wages have risen and this has had an impact, Yordanov also commented.
I am not defending Kalin Stoyanov, but if the reasons why he was asked to resign were objective… I have criticized the Ministry of Internal Affairs many times, but the reasons and reasons were sucked out of my fingers. In this case, Mrs. Kozhareva is in the very uncomfortable position of the rabbit, who will still be beaten with or without a hat, the expert said. According to him, whether Stoyanov stays or is removed, there will still be a scandal, but it will be provoked by “bad politicians”.
I even assume that Glavchev’s withdrawal was precisely aimed at calming the situation, Yordanov commented. He warned the parties that if they continue like this, they will lose even more because people do not want hysteria.
According to him, it is extremely harmful to tie the Ministry of Interior to winning elections.
I don’t have an inside view to say how the police and people from the Ministry of the Interior feel. The minister must have made some gestures of belonging to this system and community, which are recognized, and probably some of the protestors may be so motivated. But there is no doubt that this is a typical departmental protest, which must protect the chief, because he is the chief and may continue to be. I think that’s the main motivation at this point. Because for you to protest in defense of the boss, and for him to come to the protest himself – it already becomes a picture that does not speak of spontaneity. The culturologist and media expert Georgi Lozanov commented on this.
Along with this, this minister turned out to be the brightest political marker in the caretaker government and in the political situation that was taking shape, because he actually turned out to be the division between Peevski and PP-DB. How far this is objective and how far it expresses something outside of it is debatable. But there is no longer any doubt that this is the man who personifies this conflict. And that was the real conflict in the meeting, according to the PP-DB, Peevski managed to discredit them by saying that they drank coffee…, this is the clash, added Lozanov.
There is no need to go into the topic sharply here. The most normal is a caretaker government, which should stand meekly in the middle, if there is a figure in it who is clearly a bone of contention, such figures are not put in place, Lozanov also said.
The arrangement of this cabinet is something like acupuncture of the body politic – you can feel the painful points and you can feel how painful problems can be soothed if it is arranged correctly, comments Lozanov.
Now Peevski’s influence is greatly exaggerated. The moment he steps onto the stage, his influence is different and much weaker. He cannot have that influence that he would have in the shadows, which was attributed to him when he was behind, when he was not manifested in this way, Yordanov said.
