Kallakurichi District Collector Sridhar has been transferred. The Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu Government has issued this order. Shravankumar Jadawat has been appointed as the new collector of Kallakurichi.
Earlier, Kallakurichi SB Selvakumar was transferred and transferred to the waiting list. Thiruvallikeni Deputy Commissioner Pagalavan Kallakurichi has been appointed as SP in his place.
Why transfer?
Srimati (17 years old) was studying Plus-2 in Shakti Matric Higher Secondary School at Kaniyamoor near Chinnasalem in Kallakurichi district. The student, who studied in the school hostel, died mysteriously at the school on the 13th. The student’s parents and relatives have been protesting continuously claiming that the death of the student is suspicious.
Meanwhile, for the past 3 days, various opinions were being shared on social media including Twitter, WhatsApp, etc., demanding justice for the student’s death. Due to this, the day before yesterday, various organizations gathered in Kaniyamur area and started a protest.
At one point it erupted into a riot and the school was set on fire. They also set fire to the buses and vehicles there. As a result, the school campus turned into a war zone. This incident caused great shocks in Tamil Nadu.
