A student of Kaniyamur private school in Kallakurichi district died mysteriously on July 13 in the school premises. The school premises were then ransacked. Vehicles were set on fire.

In this situation, the Chinnasalem police arrested 5 persons namely school principal Ravikumar, secretary Shanti, school headmaster Sivasankaran, chemistry teacher Haripriya and maths teacher Keerthika on the complaint filed by the deceased student. The lower court rejected the bail petition filed by all 5 of them.

After that, they filed a petition in the Chennai High Court seeking bail. The Chennai High Court heard this petition and ordered on the 26th to grant conditional bail to the 5 people including the school principal. Accordingly, it has stipulated conditions that the principal, secretary and principal of the school should stay in Madurai and the two teachers should stay in Salem.

Also, the Madras High Court said that it has been confirmed that Kallakurichi school girl was not sexually assaulted or murdered according to the report of the Jipmar Medical Board. The Madras High Court had opined that teachers telling students to study is not an act of inciting suicide, and according to the suicide letter of the student, no one said that they had incited suicide.

The Madras High Court made its opinion based on the two divisional examination reports of the Tamil Nadu Government Medical Boards and the report of the Jipmar Medical Board. In this case, it has been reported that Smt.’s parents are planning to appeal in the Supreme Court in the case of the student’s death.

It has been reported that the school administrators are going to go to the Supreme Court against the High Court’s order granting bail to 5 people, and they are going to appeal against the comments made by the High Court regarding the death of Smt.
