Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram, directed by Lokesh Kanakaraj, is a movie that has recently created waves at the Indian box office. Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi, Chemban Vinod, Suriya and other big stars have lined up in the film.
In an interview with The Q, Fahadh Fazil talks about the interesting incidents that happened during the shooting of the film.
‘Kamal sir only speaks to me and Mahesh in Malayalam. Even if I speak in Tamil and English which I know, Pulli will reply in Malayalam. We will understand it well.
Vikram’s entire story was told in Malayalam once over the phone. Similarly, you can hear Pulli talking on the phone in Telugu and Kannada. It is an experience. We will film together again. That’s not saying much.
During the dubbing of the film, I would go out every one hour to drink tea. Meanwhile, Lokesh comes running and says that Kamal sir is dubbing downstairs. I had lunch with Kamal sir and came upstairs saying see you in the evening.
At six o’clock Lokesh came and said that Kamal sir is leaving. I just went down and saw it and said I’ll see you tomorrow. He said I have no business here. In this time he has dubbed in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi languages. I still haven’t even finished dubbing in tamil. If he goes in to dub, he starts dubbing from the moment the scene starts,’ said Fahadh.
After editing, I see this picture in full when Lokesh calls me one day. Ani’s (Anirudh) work has not started then. I watch this movie without any music. I saw that it was about ten minutes longer than it is now. Lokesh and I went to the editing suite and watched the film.
This movie gave me a high without the music. After watching the picture I hugged Lokesh and said that this is really a tribute to Kamal sir. All Kamal sir fans will enjoy this. Seeing Kamal sir like this after a long time. This is a movie made for Kamal sir’s fans. All the rest is just to increase his aura,’ he added.
