“I will be the president who will unite us for our greatest aspirations. A president who leads and listens. Which is realistic. Practical. And he thinks soberly. And always fighting for the American people,” she said on the last night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
“This election is a precious, fleeting opportunity for our nation to leave behind the bitterness, cynicism and divisive struggles of the past, a chance to chart a new course forward,” Harris said.
“I love my country with all my heart. Wherever I go, whatever I meet – everywhere I see a nation ready to move forward. Ready for the next stage of an incredible journey called America,” she said.
“I see an America where we hold fast to the bold convictions that are the foundation of our nation. Who inspired the whole world. Believing that here, in this country, everything is possible. Nothing is out of reach.”
K. Harris, who entered the election campaign a month ago when President Joe Biden withdrew, on November 5. will face Republican Party candidate Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential elections.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who is running alongside K. Harris and running for vice president, gave a keynote speech on Wednesday. He praised Ms Harris for her “toughness” and said she would “fight for your freedom to live the life you want”.
