Pollachi: The Small Traders Association has sent a letter to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to install a statue of Kamaraj in Azhiyar dam park in Pollachi.

In a letter sent to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on behalf of the Pollachi Local Small Traders Association, it has been stated that:

It is welcome that Pollachi BAP paid respect to those who were responsible for starting the project to commemorate the day of its launch. But it was painful that late former Chief Minister Kamaraj’s picture was ignored at the PAP Day function.

A statue should be placed at the Pollachi Azhiyar Dam area for late former Chief Minister Kamaraj, who was the main cause of the PAP, water irrigation scheme. Azhiyar Park should be named after Kamaraj. Appropriate steps should be taken to accomplish this. Thus, it is reported.
