Kaniyamoor school girl dies; Mother doubts about new ‘CCTV’ footage

KALLAKURICHI: Kaniyamoor schoolgirl Smt.’s mother has raised various doubts about the new CCTV footage of her being carried away by four people.

Shrimati, a student of Plus-2 who was staying at Kaniyamoor Sakthi Matriculation School hostel near Chinnasalem in Kallakurichi district, died on the ground floor on the 13th of last month.

The parents of Smt. complained that they were suspicious of their daughter’s death and started picketing. Even after the post-mortem, they refused to buy the body of Smt. and filed a case in the High Court.

The protest on the 17th in this regard turned into a huge riot. In this, the school, police vehicles and documents in the school were set on fire. The Special Investigation Team of the police is investigating the cases.

The letter purportedly written by the student Smt., sitting in the classroom and the CCTV footage going upstairs, which were kept secret during the investigation, are being released one by one after the investigation by CPCID.

In this situation, on Wednesday evening, another ‘CCTV’ footage was released regarding the student Smt. In it, there is a scene of four people, three women and one man, lifting the student from the hostel floor.

In this, the time is mentioned as 5.24 am on 13th July. Ms. Selvi, the mother of Smt., has raised various questions about this.

“CCTV Visual misinformation. This could have been shown by the school administration on the 13th of last month. The CCTV footage shown at the school on the 13th did not show the lifting. It is not known who is publishing this. The place where Shrimati fell is different and the place where she is lifted is different. What time did she fall? How did she beat? How did you scream? CCTV did not show that. The Watchman does not mention the other 3 people except for Mannangatti. This makes us suspicious,” Ms Selvi said.
