Chennai: The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in Kanyakumari, Nellai, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar and Theni districts today. A few places in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu and one or two places in the Nilgiris, Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts are likely to receive light to moderate rain with thundershowers today. Other districts and parts of Puduvai and Karaikal will experience mostly dry weather. Today the sky will be partly cloudy over Chennai and suburbs.
The maximum temperature will be around 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 23 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Kanyakumari, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts will receive light showers at one or two places on the 14th, while other districts and Puthuvai and Karaikal will receive mostly dry weather. The next 15 days will be mostly dry in Tamil Nadu, Puthuvai and Karaikal. Thus it is said.
