Those responsible for the incident told officers they had receipts for the clothes, but officers said those people were unable to prove all the clothes were backed up by receipts. Despite this, the police did not confiscate the goods, because West did not file a complaint with the police.
West’s chief of staff continues to claim that the clothes were stolen and as evidence there is no record of their sale, and also because they would never allow someone to purchase clothes in such large quantities.
