Puducherry: The award ceremony for the winners of the karate competition in Puducherry was held yesterday.
The 43rd Venkata Ranga Rediyar Memorial Karate Tournament was organized by Puducherry State Kojikai Karate School.
More than 600 karate players from Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry participated in the event. Competitions were held in various age-wise categories.
The prize giving ceremony for the winners of the competition was held at Jayaram Wedding Center yesterday. Ramachandran, President of the Karate School, presided over the function.
Former Speaker Sabapathi, Leader of Opposition Siva, MLA, Kakkar Sampath and Prakash Kumar gave away the prizes to the winning players.
In this, former Chairman Bhaskar, Taekwondo Association President Stalin, Gojikai Karate School President Sivaprakasam, Jipmar Hospital Ophthalmologist Madan, Jipmar Government Employees Union President Tamilvanan, Pudukkai Karate School President Raj, Karate Sangha State General Secretary Alagappan, Secretary Bala, Gojirio Sangha Secretary. Sundarrajan and others participated.
The arrangements were made by Jyothimani, the founder of Jayaram Karate School.
