Karelova opened the photo exhibition “Women’s View of World Problems”

Vice-Speaker of the Federation Council Galina Karelova opened the photo exhibition “Women’s View of World Issues” at the Metro Gallery at the Vystavochnaya station of the Moscow Metro. The exposition is dedicated to the Eurasian Women’s Forum, which will be held in mid-October in St. Petersburg.

The exhibition presents the brightest moments of the past forums, portraits of women politicians, public figures, scientists and entrepreneurs. One of the pictures is a member of the Parliament of the United Arab Emirates Aisha Salim Bin Samno, who donated $ 170 million to charity. On the other – the president of the National Peace Fund Sarah Harder from the United States, she is holding a joint photo with Valentina Matvienko, which was taken back in 1990 at the Soviet-American women’s summit.

According to Karelova, the organizers tried to convey the atmosphere of the forum, bringing together women leaders from more than a hundred countries to discuss topical issues on the world agenda.

“We managed to make the forum one of the most authoritative international discussion platforms, – said the deputy chairman of the Federation Council. – This is reflected in the presented exposition. During the time between the forums, our life has been filled with new meanings, and the third forum will be devoted to the mission of women in the new reality.”

Galina Karelova said that at the forum in St. Petersburg, the challenges associated with the coronavirus pandemic will become one of the main topics of discussion.

In turn, the chairperson of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Inna Svyatenko recalled that the forum highlights such problems as women’s social entrepreneurship, women’s leadership, and environmental issues.
