Venezuelan singer Karina confirmed that her son Xander has completed his gender reassignment process. In 2016, the artist reported that her daughter Hannah, then eleven years old, had confessed that she was not comfortable with her sexual identity and that she was a child trapped in a woman’s body.

Seven years after that event that generated great controversy in public opinion, Karina has revealed, during an interview with the Mexican television program First Hand, that Xander, the name that Hannah adopted at the beginning of her process, finished her transition.
“That he is a productive person and that he is happy, with him, which is the most important thing. Happiness is so difficult to achieve for anyone,” the singer began. “We use very lightly that of ‘this is normal. This person is normal.’ Normality is defined by everyone as they please and what suits them. There are many other things that we mistake as natural. God made it to me, he gave it to me as wine. And I have accompanied his path and I will continue to accompany him until the end of my days. And every time he has an achievement, I take it as my own; I am so happy, seeing him happy”.
Karina rejected the comments of those who are against the process and asserted that young people who do not feel identified with their biological sexual orientation are not going through a passing phase or responding to a trend.
“This is not a movement, it is not a fashion, it is the life of a being. This takes a process, it is an innate thing, ”she said.
