New Delhi: Thiruvananthapuram’s Kariyavattam Green Field Stadium has been shortlisted for the 2023 Cricket World Cup in India. The Greenfield Stadium was also included in the list of 15 stadiums submitted by the BCCI to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Reports have surfaced that India-Pakistan World Cup match and final, which fans are eagerly waiting for, will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It is the largest cricket stadium in the world.

Ahmedabad itself may be the venue for all the fiery battles of the World Cup. What makes Ahmedabad different from other stadiums is that it will accommodate more spectators. Apart from Ahmedabad and Thiruvananthapuram, the list also includes stadiums in Nagpur, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Lucknow, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Rajkot, Indore and Dharamshala.

Reports indicate that the World Cup will start on October 5. The last ODI World Cup was held in India in 2011. India won the title by defeating Sri Lanka in the final that day. England are the current World Cup winners.
