Karlos Arguiñano is an example of success in the kitchen… and on television. The friendly chef from Beasain is a reference in the gastronomic world, and he usually gives a good account of this in ‘Cocina Abierta’, the program that he presents daily on Antena 3 with great audience success. In it, the popular chef usually proposes dishes for all types of audiences, in addition to various cooking tricks that help to ensure that the results of the recipes are optimal.

In view of this, the Basque Artificial Intelligence Center (BAIC) has thought of Karlos Arguiñano himself as an ideal model to test various algorithms. This was revealed by the Guipuzcoan chef, who has given more details about the proposed study. «They want to do a study with me throughout the month of January. I have to go every afternoon, and there they ask me a hundred questions and with that they develop and know more or less how I think,” he explained to his audience in his last program of the year.

Karlos Arguiñano, in the eyes of Artificial Intelligence

Karlos Arguiñano continued explaining what the location will be and the steps to follow for the Artificial Intelligence study. «On the four Saturdays in January I am going to go to the market, and I don’t know if they will give me those chips that they put in your head. “I’m going to take a walk around there and they’re going to know what I’m thinking and how I coordinate to make my dishes,” he clarified, somewhat surprised as a result of the experiment they want to carry out at the beginning of 2024.

All in all, and despite acknowledging his lack of knowledge on the subject, the popular chef took it with humor and did not hesitate to reveal what the real objective was that he sensed in the study. «They talk about algorithms. I don’t know anything at the moment. but I get the feeling that what they want you to do soon is what Arguiñano does. If it turns out well, I see you cooking and thinking like me. And you are going to be happy. I’ll tell you in February, but I have a hectic month of January,” he concluded smiling.
