Karls Erdbeerhof’s adventure villages are popular leisure destinations. The company is now expanding to the USA – and is already accepting applications.

Karls Erdbeerhof is going on a big journey. It has been known since March that the company from the Rostock area wants to build a theme park in the USA. Now the plans are becoming more concrete: Managing Director Robert Dahl is already looking for employees for the first adventure village outside Germany.

The park is to be built in Oxnard, near the metropolis of Los Angeles in the US state of California. A team is now to be set up for this. A total of around 100 jobs are to be created. First of all, however, Dahl is looking for team leaders for his US park: in sales, for the adventure area and for the catering.

Karls Erlebnis-Dorf is also open to unsolicited applications. Career changers are welcome, “regardless of whether you come from the financial world, the technology industry or the art sector,” the advertisement states. At Karls, the only thing that counts is commitment, creativity and enthusiasm.

The company’s website does not say what salary will be paid for jobs at Karls in the USA. However, the company offers a range of discounts and an annual pass that is valid for all locations.

According to Dahl, a location is planned in the USA that is comparable to the amusement parks on Rügen or Usedom, including a tractor track, caterpillar track, potato sack slide, playgrounds, bakery and jam factory. You can read more about the plans here. The strawberries will come from the surrounding area. Dahl said that he had to prevail against other competitors with his idea for the area by the harbor in front of local council representatives. The park could open as early as 2026.
