This time, it’s done. After several attempts during previous seasons, Karmine Corp announced on its X account (formerly Twitter) that it would join the LEC, the European Championship of the “League of Legends” video game from next year.

Karmine Corp, undoubtedly the most popular e-sport club in France, will join this league closed to only ten franchises “from the 2024 season”. The French team negotiated with Danish club Astralis to regain its place in the LEC.

“Believe in yourself and your dreams”

The “KC” therefore joins the best European “League of Legend” championship, after having won the French Championship twice and the EMEA Masters four times, the second continental competition, on this same game.

“I watched LoL games (acronym for League of Legend, Editor’s note) in the taxiphone in my neighborhood when I was little with stars in my eyes, a dream, a goal in mind and I never let go, it’s a speech boat but I swear believe in yourself and in your dreams,” commented Kameto, whose real name is Kamel Kebir, founder of Karmine Corp.

Congratulations from the government

The announcement of the “KC” caused a lot of reaction on X on Wednesday evening, and numerous messages congratulating the French club accompanied this announcement. The government also congratulated Karmine Corp. “Congratulations to Arthur Perticoz and the Karmine Corp which is entering the LEC, the highest professional division in Europe in League of Legends: excellent news for French e-sport! », wrote on X Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital.

In September, Karmine Corp announced that it would settle in the “Arènes de l’Agora”, in Évry (Essonne), by 2024, thus becoming the first European e-sport club to integrate an arena as a as a resident club.
