The state transport department has ordered complete suspension of Uber, Ola and Rapido auto services in Karnataka for three days.
Also, the government has issued an order to the concerned companies to file a report in this regard.
In this regard, the state transport department has sent notices to certain companies. It said, “Karnataka Transport Department has taken this action following complaints of excessive toll collection. The service of autos connected to Ola, Uber and Rapido companies running in the state should be completely stopped within three days.
Passengers complain that they have to pay Rs 100 for a journey of only 2 km. Therefore, the auto service should not be stopped and any services including taxis should not be charged more than what is fixed by the government. If this order is violated, legal action will be taken,” it said.
