Meanwhile, contractor Santosh Patil committed suicide a few days ago. In a letter he wrote before committing suicide, he blamed Minister Isuvarappa for his death and said his supporters were harassing him by demanding commissions.

A case has been registered against Eeswarappa at the Udupi Town Police Station. Because of this, Congress leaders have been urging him to step down as minister. Following this, Eeswarappa handed over his resignation letter to the Chief Minister Basavaraj who met him the day before yesterday.

The resignation letter was immediately forwarded by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bomma to Governor Thavarchand Kelad. In this context, Governor Thavarchand Kelad has accepted the resignation of Eeswarappa as a Minister. In his statement, Chief Minister Basavaraj had sent me a toy letter stating that Eeswarappa had resigned as the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj. I accept that resignation. It is said to be effective immediately.
