New Delhi : BJP has dropped 9 sitting MPs from Karnataka in its second list of Lok Sabha candidates. Yaduveer Wadiyar, who comes from a royal family, has been given the ticket in place of Pratap Simha, a two-time MP from Mysore. Yaduveer has entered electoral politics for the first time. Pratap Simha has been silent since the announcement of the ticket, but just before this he had also taunted the royal family amid discussions about giving them the ticket. Besides, his supporters were also continuously protesting. After the announcement of the ticket, former Karnataka Deputy CM Eshwarappa accused former CM BS Yediyurappa and said that Yediyurappa had cheated.
Mysore MP’s ticket cut
Pratap Simha came into limelight in December when two youths sitting in the audience gallery of the Lok Sabha jumped into the House. These youths had reached Parliament House from the pass with Pratap Simha’s sign. The discussion about canceling Pratap Simha’s ticket was going on for several days. Then, just a day before the announcement of the ticket, on Tuesday, Pratap Simha had taunted the royal family in Facebook Live. Simha had said that royal people will have to give up their luxurious life if they enter politics. When senior leaders arrive, you will have to stand outside the hotel to meet them.
Pratap Simha made this appeal to his supporters
Simha tried to explain how I am an honest worker of the party and I have carried forward the ideology of Hindutva along with development. Later, while talking to the media, he said that if someone from the royal family is given a ticket, then it will show the beauty of democracy that how the royal people will also meet the common people, clean the roads, hold dharnas. Later, by posting on social media platform X, he told his supporters that what am I without dear Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji. My political existence is only because of Modi ji. Simha also appealed to his supporters not to protest. Also wrote that we are part of a family, together we work for Modi ji.

Ticket to Yaduveer Wadiyar of Mysore royal family
BJP candidate from Mysore, Yaduveer Wadiyar, is from the Mysore royal family. He holds the title of the 27th king of the Wadiyar dynasty. He studied in America. Yaduveer is 31 years old and crowned head of the dynasty in 2015. From Haveri seat also, BJP has given ticket to former CM Basavaraj Bommai in place of sitting MP Shivkumar Udasi. Last year itself, Shivkumar Udasi had announced that he would not contest the Lok Sabha elections.
Former Deputy CM Eshwarappa’s attack on Yeddyurappa
Senior BJP leader and former Deputy CM K.S.Eshwarappa is contesting from this seat with his son K. E. Was asking for ticket for Kantesh. But Eshwarappa is now blaming former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa for not being given the ticket. Former Deputy Chief Minister Eshwarappa alleged that BJP Parliamentary Board member Yediyurappa had assured his son of a ticket and promised to campaign for him. However, Yediyurappa has betrayed him.

What did Eshwarappa say?
Eshwarappa said Yediyurappa ensured that Bommai and Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shobha Karandlaje got BJP tickets to contest the elections and not my son. Eshwarappa said his supporters and well-wishers were pressurizing him to contest as an independent candidate from Shivamogga constituency. He said that we have called a meeting with our supporters on Friday after which we will decide on the next step. BJP has again fielded Yeddyurappa’s son and sitting MP BY Raghavendra from Shivamogga.
