One of the surprises was the reappearance of Amaia Montero, former vocalist of the band La Oreja de Van Gogh, who could not contain her amazement upon seeing the stadium filled with people singing the Colombian’s songs.
“Today I have a little person here who hasn’t been on stage for two years and is nervous, but she is going to be given one of the best nights of her life,” said the ‘Bichota’, introducing her to the more than 60,000 attendees.

Amaia had been away from the stage for two years after suffering from severe stress and anxiety, as she stated on her social media in 2022 that she felt “destroyed.”
On that second night of concerts, the artists performed the song ‘Rosas’, accompanied by an audience just as excited as they were.
After the performance, the Spanish artist stated, “It couldn’t have been more beautiful. I will keep this moment in my heart and soul for a lifetime.”

Karol G’s Triumph and its Impact on the Music Industry
This past weekend, Karol G electrified the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Spain, marking a significant milestone in her “Mañana Será Bonito” tour that began in 2023. With a staggering 240,000 tickets sold across four consecutive shows, the Colombian superstar has shown that her popularity transcends borders.
Karol G captivated the audience with a setlist featuring hits like ‘TQG’, ‘Besties’, and ‘X si volvemos’ alongside the legendary Romeo Santos. One moment that stood out was the surprise appearance of Amaia Montero, the former lead singer of La Oreja de Van Gogh, who made her stage comeback after a two-year hiatus due to mental health struggles. Their duet on ‘Rosas’ evoked an emotional response from the over 60,000 fans present, illustrating the power of live music to unite individuals through shared experiences.
This resurgence of live performances is likely to signify broader trends in the industry. As artists increasingly prioritize personal connection with fans, collaborations may become more commonplace, bridging genres and styles. Events like Karol G’s concerts remind us that shared experiences in large venues foster a sense of community that digital platforms cannot replicate.
Additionally, the focus on mental health narratives in the music industry could see more artists discussing their own struggles and journeys, creating a culture of openness and potentially leading to initiatives aimed at promoting well-being among musicians. As seen with Amaia’s heartfelt remarks after her performance, vulnerable storytelling will likely resonate deeply with audiences, strengthening the emotional bond between artists and fans.
As the music landscape evolves post-pandemic, the blending of live performances with audience engagement and awareness of mental health issues could shape a new era of music events that are not just entertaining but also transformative.
