Tirukarthikai Deepa Festival which is considered as one of the world famous festivals in Tiruvannamalai started on 27th with flag hoisting. Bharani Deepam was lit at 4 o’clock in front of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. After that, Maha Deepam is also going to be lit on the 2668-feet-high Dipa Neta at the back of the temple this evening.
