Kasargod: Hosdurg police have arrested a man who went abroad after raping a young woman with the help of Interpol. The arrested is Muzaffarali Madampilathu (23), a resident of Arayangadi, Kalayara, Kasargod.
The incident took place in 2018. Following this, Interpol issued a red notice for Muzaffar Ali who went abroad. The arrest was made after Muzaffar Ali informed IG Spurgeon Kumar, also a State Interpol Liaison Officer, about his arrest.
The accused, who was brought to Delhi through the Indian Consulate, was arrested by a team led by Hosdurg police station sub-inspector K Sreejesh.
The International Investigation Co-ordination Team, which was set up on the instructions of the state police chief, has issued a red notice against those who commit crimes and go abroad. The team is overseen by Crime Branch ADGP S Sreejith.
