Actress Katy Karrenbauer experienced a dramatic incident a few days ago: she had to resuscitate a strange man at the bus stop.
Today Katy Karrenbauer is one of the most famous actresses in Germany, looks back on a long and successful television career and has also appeared in numerous reality TV formats. Her promising career took off in 1994: At that time, she gained her first experience in front of the camera in the RTL series “Notaufnahme”. In the show she played the paramedic Karo Kaiser and saved many lives as part of her role. Now, around 30 years later, Katy Karrenbauer found herself in a similar situation in real life.
A few days ago, the 61-year-old saw a father collapse at a bus stop. “I suddenly had my head in front of my feet. And then it was clear – the man wasn’t feeling well,” recalls the reality TV celebrity on RTL.
She then had the presence of mind to push the man’s children and wife aside to first find out what was wrong with him. The former jungle camper felt the man’s pulse and checked whether the man was still breathing. But it was not like that. “Suddenly there was nothing left. This person was no longer breathing,” Katy Karrenbauer continues.
“We then resuscitated him together”
Luckily, the voice actress reacted quickly – and saved the man’s son’s life. “Then the boy and I just looked at each other briefly, he then put his hands on his father’s chest and we actually resuscitated him together,” said the actress.
This experience showed her how important it is to take a first aid course regularly, says Katy Karrenbauer and appeals to those around her to do the same.
