Additional invitations have been extended to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader M.K. Stalin, and Karnataka political figures as noted by The Tribune. These meetings have added a significant political dimension to an event already drawing immense interest across cinema, cricket, and corporate circles.

Kalanithi Maran ranks among India’s wealthiest media business leaders, holding a significant stake in Sun TV Network. The family’s media and entertainment empire is supported by a massive valuation, with the business leader positioned prominently on the Hurun Rich List 2026. Growing up around the enterprise helped shape Kavya’s interest in media and entertainment, which she noted in an interview with Fortune India. She holds an MBA from New York University’s Leonard N Stern School of Business, adding formal business credentials to her operational oversight within the conglomerate.

Joining Sun TV Network in 2016 before advancing to an executive director role in 2019, Kavya’s responsibilities include strategic initiatives and the network’s expansion into digital services, professional sports, and film production. One of her key projects has been the development of Sun NXT, the organization’s streaming platform. Her remit also extends to Sun Pictures, the film production arm that backs major Tamil-language releases. In professional sports, she started with Sunrisers Hyderabad, working on branding, team jerseys, and marketing before becoming CEO. Her responsibilities stretch internationally as the Sunrisers group operates Sunrisers Eastern Cape in South Africa’s SA20 league and maintains connections to the Northern Superchargers franchise in England’s The Hundred competition.

Anirudh Ravichander was born on October 16, 1990, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and is 36 years old. He is the son of actor Ravi Raghavendra and Lakshmi Ravichander, and is the nephew of Rajinikanth. Choosing music over acting, he debuted in 2012 with Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth’s film 3, starring Dhanush, and rose to wider fame with the track Why This Kolaveri Di. His musical footprint expanded across industries with notable compositions like Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020) starring Allu Arjun, alongside blockbuster Tamil projects such as Jailer, Leo, Vikram, and Jawan. His professional association with the Maran family includes his work composing for Jailer 2, produced by Sun Pictures.

Couple Plans Wedding Ceremony in Greece

While the Chennai reception date is officially anchored by government communications, reports regarding the wedding ceremony itself point toward an overseas celebration. Multiple outlets have indicated that the couple is planning to exchange vows in Greece, with potential dates circulating for November 10 and November 11, 2026.

The wedding speculation is not entirely new. Rumors linking Kavya and Anirudh romantically have surfaced over the past few years, alongside online discussions concerning other industry collaborations. In June 2025, the composer brushed off an earlier round of rumors on social media.
