On Monday, Estonian President Alar Karis said he would prefer the resignation of Prime Minister Kai Kallas at the very beginning of the crisis. However, Kallas remains unconvinced and intends to follow the procedure provided for by the Constitution, according to which the parliament can remove her from the post of prime minister by a majority of votes, writes ERR.
“The President told me exactly what he then said to the public, and what he said before, but we just recently had elections,” Kallas said in an interview with ERR radio news. – The Riigikogu confirms the Prime Minister by a majority vote, and the Parliament removes the Prime Minister by the same majority vote. This is the procedure provided for by our Constitution.”
