Kaya, August 7, 2023 (AIB) – The Tin Tua association proceeded on Friday August 4, 2023 in Kaya, to the official launch of the “project for the integration of children not yet registered in the civil status registers (Pro-civil status )”.

The official launch of the “project for the integration of children not yet registered in civil status registers (Pro-civil status)” took place on Friday August 4, 2023 in Kaya during a workshop chaired by the High Commissioner of Sanmatenga Province.

The launch brought together civil status actors from the commune of Kaya, provincial directors in charge of education and humanitarian action, representatives of the High Court of Kaya, religious authorities as well as representatives internally displaced persons and civil society organizations.

It took place through an information and appropriation workshop by the stakeholders of the “project for the integration of children not yet registered in the civil status registers (Pro-civil status)”.

Planned for a period of 3 years, “pro-civil status” intends to support the issue of at least 30,000 birth certificates for the benefit of children under 15 years of age who do not have a civil status document. of the commune of Kaya.

The High Commissioner of the province of Sanmatenga in his opening speech delivered by the secretary general of the province, Noufo Dembelé, welcomed the initiative of this project which comes to support the State in its sovereign role of providing services of civil status.

For him, “Pro-civil status” will contribute “to guaranteeing legal identity for all, in particular through birth registration, by 2030” in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He invited the implementing actors to invest in the success of this project in a difficult security and humanitarian context for the benefit of the populations in general and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in particular.

“You have a duty to facilitate and support this project. You must take ownership of it, and spare no effort for the successful implementation of this project within your municipality and administrative district,” insisted the High Commissioner.

For the representative of the executive director of the NGO Tin Tua, Elisabeth Sanfo/Zerbo, the implementation of “Pro-civil status” will promote the development and full enjoyment of the rights recognized for children. “The birth certificate is one of the major acts of civil status in Burkina Faso,” she underlined.

“Pro-civil status” is implemented by the NGO Tin Tua in partnership with the World Association of Children’s Friends (AMADE) for a total budget of 70 million FCFA.
