Kayan Association for Orphans with Special Circumstances takes part in Mental Health Forum on World Mental Health Day

In a bid to achieve its goals of introducing projects and strategic objectives, the Kayan Association for Orphans with Special Circumstances participated in the Mental Health Forum at King Saud University for Health Sciences on World Mental Health Day. The event included lectures, workshops, and corners that aimed to enhance psychological health.

During the forum, the association set up an introductory corner in collaboration with its success partner, Mind Academy for Healthcare. The corner attracted a large number of visitors who praised the association for its efforts in providing care to orphans over the past seven years. The event was attended by the Executive Director of the Kayan Association, Mr. Riyad Al-Abdul Karim, as well as leaders, mental health professionals, and sponsors.

Psychologist Reem Fahd Al Balikhi from the Kayan Association spoke about the “Quality of Life” project, which was launched earlier this year. The project focuses on providing psychological, therapeutic, and preventive support to beneficiaries. So far, the project has benefited 1,090 individuals through consultations, psychological sessions, support groups, and training courses. The statistics and outcomes of the project were deemed satisfactory by the association.

The Kayan Association also took the opportunity to introduce its vision, mission, projects, goals, and services provided to its orphan children in terms of empowerment, training, and improving quality of life.

As a token of appreciation, the Kayan Orphans Association was honored by King Saud University for Health Sciences for its meaningful participation in the forum. The success partners were also thanked for their support.

In a move to further enhance the psychological well-being of orphans, the Kayan Association signed a cooperation agreement with the MIND Academy for Health Care. The agreement was represented by Mr. Riad Al-Abdul Karim, Executive Director of the Kayan Association, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Farir, Executive Director of the MIND Academy. This collaboration aims to serve a greater number of orphans in terms of psychological services, ultimately improving their mental health. Mr. Al-Abdul Karim emphasized the association’s commitment to partnering with public and private sectors in order to support orphans and improve their overall well-being.
